Spider Plant
Spider plants have a rosette of long (1-2 foot) leaves that are green or variegated with creamy white. It produces plantlets at the end of long arching stems. Spiders plants make ideal hanging basket plants. Plant in regular potting mix. It prefers bright light, but is very adaptable to medium light. Allow soil to dry between watering. Spider plants will produce plantlets when pot bound.
Umbrella Tree 
Schefflera is a popular indoor plant that can reach 8 feet tall under proper growing conditions. Its glossy large, compound leaves resemble an umbrella. Plant in an all-purpose potting mix and water thoroughly, but allow to dry moderately between watering.. In warm, dry rooms, they tend to be attacked by spider mites. Increase humidity to help avoid this. Carefully wash leaves (top and underside) regularly. Tip pruning will help keep plant bushy. These plants are all adaptable to a wide range of growing conditions. While they grow best in a warm, moist environment, they do faiRL well under normal household conditions of temperature and humidity.
Weeping Fig
Plant in regular potting soil and keep the soil minimally moist at all times.
Best in bright, indirect light, diffused sun, warm temperatures, and medium humidity. When grown in pots, these plants tend to develop a single stem. The leaves drop if the plant is chilled or if it is moved from one place to another. Ficus like their roots crowded in a small pot. Wipe leaves with a wet cloth at frequent intervals.
Prayer Plant
Prayer plant folds up its leaves in darkness. Plant in regular potting mix and keep the soil moist. Grow in diffused sun, bright, indirect light, warm temperatures and high humidity. Keep evenly moist, but allow the soil to dry between watering during winter. Do not allow water to stand on the crowns; the stems rot easily.
Devil's Ivy 
Pothos looks like a smooth-stemmed philodendron, but can be distinguished from philodendron by its ridged stems. They are vigorous climbers and look nice in a pot or in a hanging basket. Plant in humus
soil and allow to dry moderately between watering for devil's ivy, but keep barely moist at all times for silver pothos. Best grown in bright, indirect sunlight, warm temperatures and low humidity.
Leaf color tends to disappear in low light conditions.
Jade Plant, Silver Dollar Plant
These are easy to grow succulents. They can last many years and grow into miniature trees. Do best with four or more hours of direct sun, but also seem to do well in bright, indirect light. Moderate temperature is best, but are tolerant of a wide range. Allow soil to nearly dry between watering.
Philodendron
Philodendrons grow better than most other houseplants under adverse conditions of most homes.. They do well as long as they are kept warm, moderately moist and out of direct sunlight. Numerous species and hybrids are available. There is a wide variation in plant and leaf form. Plant in regular potting soil and keep the soil minimally moist at all times. For best results, grow in bright, indirect sunlight, warm temperatures and low humidity.
English Ivy
Various other plants are called ivy though they are not related to the real ivy plant, Hedera. These climbing vines can be trained to form topiaries or allowed to cascade over pots. Plant ivy in regular potting mix and keep the soil moist. Grow in bright light, cool temperatures, and low to medium humidity. Begin training ivy when it is small. Pinch off the ends of the shoots frequently to produce a bushy plant. Inspect for spider mites regularly.
Nephthytis, White-veined arrowhead vine
Nepthythis has heart-shaped leaves with silver, white or yellow markings. Plant in regular potting soil and keep the soil barely moist. Best grown in bright, indirect sunlight, warm temperatures and low humidity. Provide with a pole or totem for support. Prune occasionally. Propagate with stem cuttings.
Mother-in law tongue, Snake plant

These plants grow in almost any environment. The species develops clumps of erect, strap-shaped leaves, 18-30 inches tall, that are dark green with bands of lighter green or yellow. Another variety develops four inch tall leaves that form a rosette. Plant in regular potting mix and allow the soil to dry completely between watering. Grow in any light intensity from dim interior to full sun. Keep moderate to warm temperatures and low humidity. In winter, water just enough to keep the foliage from shriveling. Over-watering is the main reason for failure.
Chinese Evergreen

Chinese evergreens are very tolerant plants that do well in a variety of
settings. Several species are available, some with dark green leaves and others that are variegated. Aglaonema flourish for years. Grow in water or in humus potting soil. Keep the soil minimally moist. They do best in shadow-less light, such as a north window. They require a minimum of care. When the stems become too long, propagate with tip cuttings. Or use the air-layering method.
